Project Voice’s 2020 Scholarship Program
The scholarship program extends to any and all interested individuals the opportunity to receive a one-time $1,000 scholarship and join the Project Voice team as a podcaster mentee.
Individuals who are selected to partake in the scholarship program will work one-on-one with mentors, who we have identified as experienced and qualified members of the podcast community. Over the course of their training period mentees will learn how to become proficient podcasters, as well as explore what it means to engage in this increasingly popular digital medium.
Come raise your voice for and with the Asian diaspora!

THERESA YUAN
Module 1:
Branding & Storytelling
Teri Yuan is a social entrepreneur, feminist business consultant, and host of en(gender)ed, which explores the systems, practices and policies that enable gender-based violence and oppression and the solutions to end it. En(gender)ed uses gender as a lens to better understand power and oppression and its impact in the private realm, so as to better recognize and confront it in the public sphere. Teri believes that by developing a cultural literacy around power and abuse of power, we can reclaim how we define liberty in relationships and in civic life and solve many of our most urgent social (justice) challenges.
NIKI TORRES
Module 2:
Marketing
Aside from hosting and producing a podcast, Niki Torres also run a blog at Notoriously Curious. Chief Best Friends is one of her first major projects that truly embraces her creative side. It was born out of her curiosity to know more women movers, shakers, and creators. Niki wanted to hear more of our voices in a sea of still male-dominated media. She believes podcasting is changing the game for us and wanted to not only hear women from all corners of the globe, but also want to understand how friendships help us go further.
J.J. QUERUBIN
Module 3:
Audio Editing
JJ Querubin is currently a student at Savannah College of Art and Design, pursuing a degree in Sound Design. For the past three years, JJ has worked on short live-action and animated films. After college, she wishes to expand and work on more Asian American content in all platforms of media. She hopes her efforts will help pave a path for other Asian American talents in the entertainment industry.
JESSICA NGUYEN
Module 4:
Launching Your Podcast
Many know Jessica Nguyen as the founder and host of Project Voice, a podcast series aimed at empowering women/womxn and non-binary folks/folx of the Asian diaspora through dialogues of social justice and identity politics. She is currently spearheading a crowdfunding campaign to help fund a storytelling scholarship program for aspiring Asian podcasters. Jessica sees herself as a lifelong content creator who is passionate about using digital media to amplify the voices of marginalized communities.
